We are happy to share some exciting news with our patients: the first “minipill” has been officially approved in Japan!
At the end of June this year, Slinda 28 became available, opening up a new option for women seeking safe and reliable contraception.
Unlike combined oral contraceptives (the “pill” many people are familiar with), the minipill contains only progestin—no estrogen.
This makes it especially helpful for women who:
Slinda 28 contains the progestin drospirenone and is taken daily, just like other contraceptive pills. Because it’s estrogen-free, it may offer fewer hormone-related side effects and more flexibility for certain patients.
At Ashiya Women’s Clinic, Slinda 28 is available for 3,300 yen per sheet.
Until now, women in Japan only had access to estrogen-containing pills. With the approval of Slinda 28, women now have more choices to find the contraceptive method that fits their body, health, and lifestyle.
At Ashiya Women’s Clinic, we believe that empowering women with options is an important step toward supporting their health and future.
We are pleased to let our patients know that Slinda 28 is now available at our clinic.
If you are interested in learning more about whether the minipill is right for you, please feel free to make an appointment. During your consultation, we will go over your health background and lifestyle to help you decide the best contraceptive method for your needs.
